Derek & I were friends before we became partners. When we met, Derek was still married to Jean, although they were separated, their divorce was still ongoing, & I really didn't want to know........ After much persuasion, I agreed to visit him in Florida. Eventually, Derek moved into my home in Lytham & from there we moved to Mallorca. I was married to John Berry who simply adored me - & sadly passed away in 1992. I am very fortunate to have had two good men in my life & for this I am eternally grateful.They are both giving me the strength to carry on. We loved & trusted each other 100% - What more can I say?

Gone too soon
If only you could have had your wish of living for 10 more years. I think about this often as you were enjoying life so much & felt happy, loved & contented. You were so very strong Derek, even until the last day when you drove the jeep to the hospital for your radiology - I have never seen such determination - You were dying then my love but I didn't know. The ride back from the hospital with me driving was a different matter - You knew by then that you only had a limited time with me but you kept it to yourself - I now know what you went through to protect me & I thank you -
I would have done the same for you sweetheart. We have both been through a lot in life but I can honestly say that we gave each other the best of our experiences, love & commitment that anyone could wish for.
Rest in peace Derek - You did your very best. I have been truly blessed with two good & loving men in my life & for this I am forever grateful.
You can love too much but it is worth every minute.................................
